Beansprout Enterprises Website

Portcullis Digital has supported a social enterprise with the development costs of their new website and we were invited to the 2017 graduation ceremony at The School of Social Entrepreneurs East in Ipswich last week. Kerry Overton (of Beansprout Enterprises) had a wonderful exhibit in the fantastic aquarium space at the Eastern Enterprise Hub and we tried some of her budget recipes ourselves. We have supported the cost of the work to make Kerry’s new website as we really value the work of the Eastern Enterprise Hub and how much impact a social enterprise can make on communities.

Kerry was supported by the Lloyds Bank and Bank of Scotland Social Entrepreneurs Programme, in partnership with SSE, providing individuals with a place on a SSE learning programme, a grant and a business mentor.  Over five years the programme, which is supported by Lloyds Bank and The Big Lottery Fund, will support 1,300 social entrepreneurs to start and scale innovative social organisations. Kerry was able to access this to start her social enterprise.

Beansprout Enterprises is empowering people to take control of their own healthy food and meal choices, in turn building healthier communities. Kerry is a professional trained Chef and of course social entrepreneur offering support to schools, communities and meal providers to give healthy, nutritionally beneficial options. While being great on the wallet, they are still very tasty meals that also look stunning – all on a budget.

The website needed to set out the aims of the project, clearly show the intentions and structure but mainly promote what Kerry and the Beansprout team offer. The website also needed to sell Kerry as a consultant to the food industry and meal providers, to help sustain the Kerry and the social enterprise. Kerry is still populating the website herself, going live in a few weeks with some training from us on how to look after her new WordPress website.

All of us here at Portcullis wish Kerry and the team the best of luck we look forward to following your progress and supporting your growth with such a fantastic business (social enterprise!).
