We recently supported the 3rd Raspberry Jam event in Ipswich, started by our very own Andy Proctor, now with the support of the Ipswich Maker Space community.
Portcullis Digital recognise the need to support young people to become computer programmers and developers and allow us to have the creative computer coding talent of the future, hence wanting to get involved.
The RasberryJam is organised by The Ipswich Makerspace from something started by Andy after he went to a few other ‘Jams’ around England. The first event for Ipswich was a great success back in August 2015 and they are set to continue. Andy saw that there wasn’t anything else in Ipswich for people to find out more, go to workshops and meet other people using the Raspberry Pi.
Jobs For The Future
The Raspberry Pi Foundation also invited Andy to their “Raspberry Pi: Celebrating our community’s success” event in St James’s Palace due to his work promoting and support the Raspberry Pi Foundations values earlier this month. The Raspberry Pi works to put the power of digital making into the hands of people all over the world, so they are capable of understanding and shaping our increasingly digital world, able to solve the problems that matter to them, and equip them for the jobs of the future.
